Last weekend Sarah had a LONG overdue playdate with Laila.
We met up with Jon and Heather, very good friends of ours, for some delicious food at Sahara Falafel. They were right, it did not disappoint and Sarah loved the chicken, rice, hummus, and pita. Oh, and she did have falafel! These two were so fascinated with each other and kept smiling at each other.
Observation 1: They are both VERY VERY happy babies and FULL of BEAUTIFUL smiles. You can't help but smile back and love on these 2.
Observation 2: They make the same sounds and practically sound alike. All of us were tripping out. Yes, I said tripping out.
Observation 3: They just act the same. They move a lot. Get very feisty over things they want. They're just alike...period.
Observation 4: These are the only differences I saw in these 2. First Laila loves to crawl, and she doesn't crawl on her knees but with her hands in feet and she is FAST (you go girl!). Sarah hates crawling. She'd rather hold on to my hands and walk (she's doing this funky thing where she acts like she's walking on heels these past few days though). Second, Sarah eats everything I put in front of her face, but truth be told her appetite scares me. Laila seems to know exactly what she likes food wise and will get feisty until she gets that certain thing.
A little bit of history on these two. They are less than a week apart in age. Trip out huh? It wasn't supposed to be. Sarah popped out 6 weeks early. Laila was a tad bit over her due date I believe. For some reason it happened that. Now I know there are some out there thinking, oh they're the same "sign" so that's why they're alike. No...I think it's something much bigger than that. I think God has something planned that I can't see right now.
Heather came to visit me in the hospital and she was ready to pop any moment. Talk about a true friend driving over 40 miles just to come see me. Although the girls did officially when they were a couple of months, they were still a bit small. This was a fun playdate. Well at least for me. Sarah was so fascinated with Laila that she was in her "calm" state. Now when I say calm I don't mean she was just sitting around doing nothing. She was still moving, but just not as out of control as usual.
It was also nice to get together with friends who COMPLETELY understand you. It always amazes me how God uses certain friends in our lives. It is always a huge blessing to get together with the Earsleys, talk and not feel alone in this world with experiences. We can be totally transparent with them and not be afraid. They are also very encouraging to be around and a lot of fun. I pray that these two girls grow to be best friends and be transparent with each other as well growing up.
