A few days ago, we were unexpectedly blessed by my cousin Gernez with a trip to Disneyland. We met her at the park and she let us in. Oh the perks with working for the mouse. JP and I have pondered getting passes since we live in Orange County, but a big factor of why I haven't: We can't really afford it. If we can't pay cash for it, we won't get it. We didn't think it was wise for us to spend that money on an annual pass when we have other financial responsibilities to take care of.
Plus the girls are so young. How much of this will they really remember? And to really spend that much money and them being limited to what they can do and ride? It just isn't worth it.
Now you can make fun of us all you want. But we have a Knott's pass...do you know how much an annual pass at Knott's cost me? I think it was $72! FOR THE WHOLE YEAR! Parking pass was an additional $50. And want to know something else...the only debt my husband and I have is OUR HOUSE! No car payment. No credit cards. And no more student loans.
I don't say that to brag. I say that to tell you because we are sacrificing now and not splurging and buying things we really can't afford, we are creating a better future for our family. We're going to be able to help our daughters with college and with their first car - IN CASH. When they're a little older, we can take those family trips without feeling guilty that we spent all that money on a trip instead of something else that actually needs our attention.
Okay I'll stop preaching to you. But I think because we were faithful with our finances that God honored it and found a way for us to go to Disneyland with the girls and a few other friends. But thank you to Gernez also for her generosity!
California Adventure is AWESOME! Sarah is really into Pixar movies. She absolutely loves Cars! So we spent quite some time in Cars Land. One of the first things she got to do is see Lightning. And the look on her face was awesome.
Then she ran to go see "Red!"
Here's a pic with Auntie Mary. Thank God she was with us cuz she helped with the girls too.We did get a fast pass to meet the queen and princess. And man, didn't Sarah just love getting their attention even if it was for 5 minutes. Anna said she thought about doing the pigtails that Sarah had.
And here she's meeting who she calls "Monster Sully" because she loves both Monsters movies. Look how ginormous his hand really is! It's bigger than JP's head!
This was classic! Sarah was excited to meet Mickey Mouse. Hannah...not so much...
I think I'm going to have to make a part 2 to this cuz...I'm already tired typing and need to wrangle the other pictures.
