Last night JP and I took Sarah to get some bloodwork done on her. I didn't want to go alone for this one. I can hold her down for vaccinations and getting her ears pierced...but bloodwork? And trying to keep her still? That is the real problem. Keeping her still! And it was daddy's turn!
So there I was prepared to distract her...the lab tech guy put the blue band around her chunky arms and looked for a vein. He said her veins were small and wanted to check the other arm. Geez. I have heard that before. But he found one. He popped the needle in and...nothing. Not a peep. I watched the blood which seemed to slowly come out waiting for her to whine...start crying...scream...something...and nothing. She looked around as if nothing was going on. And then it was done. Cotton ball and tape. No complaints. The lab guy and security guard that was watching were very impressed. JP and I were still wondering what was going on. I think I still am.
